I used to. I have 8 CD's that are fully loaded, with about 130+ songs on each one. But since I got my Zumo, I hardly ever play the CD's anymore. I can get 1000 songs on an SD card, plenty of music for most trips.
All your MP3 files have to be at the root (no folders) and make sure you have nothing but MP3 files on the CD (no cover art, txt files etc) and lastly ensure you finalize the disk. The HK radio is really finicky
There are threads on this but I just burn as data CD and in options select slow and m3u. I burn them w windows media player and didn't have to worry about cover art, etc. I also ripped CD's in using bit rate of 256 to mp3 file, some use bit rate 192 which will allow more song on burned CD but I get around 115 songs per CD.
Yes you must burn them at the lower speed for them to sound good and not distorted , you can get about 125 to 150 songs on one cd depending how long the songs are !
i GOT A LIFE TIME SUBSCRIPTION TO SERIUS ABOUT 9 YEARS AGO,MOVE TO RECIEVER FROM CAR TO BIKE TO BOOM BOX.TOO LAZY TO KEEP BURNING MP3 BUT ALWAYS KEEP A CD IN RADIO
Is it possible to give a run down of how to do this . I have burned CD's and loaded CD's on to wifes ishuttle , but have not been able to burn a CD in MB3 format to get that many songs on 1 CD.
I get >200 songs per CD using a bitrate of 128. Using a higher bitrate is pointless since I can't hear the difference on the bike anyway.
When I bought my Zumo GPS I started using its MP3 player, and I can store >600 songs per 2gb card, plugged into the AUX input in the HK front panel. The Zumo has a functional limit of 1000 songs. I like this source because there are no moving parts and I don't feel like I'm wearing out my CD player, although I do run the CD player every few months. The downside to the Zumo is that you can't select songs (previous and next) using the right handlebar switch as you can with the HK CD player, but you can alter volume in the conventional way. You can select previous and next but it requires more interaction and you must look at the screen to push the right buttons.
I converted songs to MP3 on my Mac from Itunes and I downloaded 87 songs on to the disc. I was one happy dude but then when I started to ride the CD would stop playing. and I would have to pull it out, turn it off and re-insert it to get it play again. Any hints?
i use my i pod. spend hours downloading songs, and putting them in the order i think will sound best. got all types of music, classic rock (400+ songs), funk (150+ songs), oldies (150+ songs). see a lot of guys with this setup. i pod in the bags with a remote control or use the radio to control it. i just use my ear buds. no dough for speakers yet.
