140 songs won't even get me out of the state of Texas.
You need to crank that throttle a bit more...
Thanks for the tip on this - just burned a 3 CD's with 160 songs on each from the playlists on my iPhone - this is way easier than worrying about hooking up an iPod through the aux (and hanging it from the bars).
Burn? Rip? CD? MP3? HK? XM? Sirius? What are you guys talking about? I remember when the only music you heard was the sound of your sweet engine.Boy, times have changed.
All your MP3 files have to be at the root (no folders) and make sure you have nothing but MP3 files on the CD (no cover art, txt files etc) and lastly ensure you finalize the disk. The HK radio is really finicky
you can use folders. i name folders on my desktop with the artist name. then drag all the songs by that artist into that folder. after i've got that set, i use nero to burn them to a disk (as data). i burn them at 12x and have never had a problem. (nero has a free burning program available, called burnlite. don't have any info on it, as i've never used it, but it is available)
when you play the disk, the folders do not show up, but all songs will play. i use them because it makes it easier for me to organize before i burn.
but goose is correct about cover art and txt files. those will mess things up.
btw, i hate itunes and wmp i find them to be too complicated.
this is all moot for me now, as the wife bought me an ipod nano for christmas and i'm waiting on the ipod interface to release from back order
I've been doing that for awhile. Audiophiles claim that the sound quality of MP3s isn't as good as some of the other formats, such as FLAC, but I defy anyone to be able to tell the difference on a bike, or even in a car.
It depends what bit rate you rip your files at.
I was so dissapointed when I ripped some at 128.
Ripped at 320 kbps, they sound wonderful!
Who cares if they take up a little more room?
Are the song files in MP3 format on your computer? You have to start with MP3s to burn them to a MP3 CD. If they are not you can convert them within ITunes then burn the CD at the slowest rate for best results.
.....or he can download one of the many free format converters on the net. Many of them will convert all your music files to mp3 with ease.
Yep burning mp3s to CD is the only way to go. I don't notice a difference in sound quality and you can get so many more tracks on a cd. I can't remember where I heard it or read it but they are cutting way back if not eliminating artist CDs. Everything is going electronic and digital. First it was 8 tracks, then vinyl, then cassettes, and soon to be gone CDs. So long album cover artists.
