What kit did you use to hook up to the HK factory radio? I have a kit in my F350 but they don't have one for the HD HK's.

Are the song files in MP3 format on your computer? You have to start with MP3s to burn them to a MP3 CD. If they are not you can convert them within ITunes then burn the CD at the slowest rate for best results.

Hey Veteran75, if you can insert avatars and sig pics here you can burn a MP3 CD. I can do it so you can too.

If you want to have a play with it try this:

1-Download the Itunes software (free download);
2-Copy the music you want to burn into your folder " my documents\my music " or any folder you want as long as there isn't anything else in there.
3-go into Itunes and create a "new playlist"
4-go back to the "my music" folder and select and drag the selected section of tunes into the new playlist folder and Itunes will convert the files to MP3.
5- after it does that click "burn CD " in the lower right of the Itunes screen.

Your done-- when you want to do more conversions just create a new playlist in Itunes and do the copy drag process again.

small warning. If you want to ammend your original playlist, you must leave the original music files where they were placed initially, or Itunes won't be able to find them.

As other posters have tipped:
burn slow-- x2 or x4 is about right- the sound quality will be better.

make sure- you have deleted all other files before you drag them into Itunes such as .txt; cover art; or others. What will happen is the HK unit will skip files that aren't MP3.

I think I have covered it. If you have any problems just ask for guidance.

It isn't hard so have a play around! You can't screw anything up...

I get 130 or more songs per disk. The other posters are right about some songs are better than others for listening to on a bike what with road, engine, and pipes.

I havn't really used the MP3 CD player in the HK radio since I got my Garmin 550. The 550 has a built in MP3 player that will handle up to 1000 songs. Other GPS units probably can handle more and are not sensitive to vibration and shock.

The 550 also provides me with GPS tools, music and some traffic alerts like redlight cameras and KrispyKreme stores.
