Default Screaming Eagle Heavy Fork Oil?

Has anyone upgraded their fork oil to SE Heavy Fork Oil? Was your ride any better? Worse?

Thanks,
Kevin

I upgraded my Ultra to the SE Heavy Fork Oil. For me, I felt it was a worthwhile improvement in handling and comfort. It definitely makes the front feel firmer and if you ride on rougher roads it may not be for you. It significantly reduced the amount of dive under braking and that was what I wanted most. I've put about 15000 miles on the bike since doing it and have no regrets so far. There are several posts from last year that explain the procedure, etc.

I've done this on all my lowered bikes. The 09 however, is pretty firm. Try a 50/50 mix with the standard and SE fluid.

I've been using the SE 15wt...the SE heavy made my front end too stiff.

Harley Fork Oils......
E is 5 wt
B is 10 wt
SE is 15 wt
SE heavy (racing) is 20 wt

I ride with heavier oil in the forks. It is not SE, but an even heavier weight I believe. I would have to check in the garage to confirm the actual fork oil weight I am running. I love how it feels.

I went with the SE Heavy and although it firmed the front-end a bit it is not harsh, also provided increased control, and bottoming is a thing of the past. Overall it was an excellent option for my riding style. Check out this write-up for an easy method for changing the oil in non-cartridge forks. Scroll down to Post #23. It might also work for cartridge forks ('02-'05), but I don't recall reading about anyone trying it.

I have the SE in my forks now.
Lots of rough roads where I work and the ride to Sturgis was a little uncomfortable at times.
I think I'll try mixing it with the lighter stuff next time.

I did this also for braking and am very happy! Mine had 40K when changed.
