Default Low Cost Detachable Tour-Pak table/rack

I searched everwhere for a table or a rack that I could use to hold my detachable tour-pak and wasn't very successful in finding something that I could move easily. I also wanted something that would be high enough for me to be able to get off the ground, but low enough to easily manage lifting. I happened to be at Harbor Freight and found one of these for under $25.00:

http://www.harborfreight.com/adjusta...ion-46725.html

I was really impressed with the stability of this as usually (as we all know), Harbor Freight isn't known for quality...

With a couple of easy modifications with my jig saw I was able to convert it to the pictures below. The one thing I did on the table top was to turn the long part of the table opposite the long side of the finished rack. This allows the pak to go in easily as well as provide a lot more stability.

The front side has two inches left while the sides have 3 inches left. I plan on getting a couple of pieces of carpet (the kind you stick to the bottom of furniture) or rubber to lay down on the wood to keep from scratching the bottom.

The finished product is very stable and can easily be moved around if needed.

Nice job!!!
I'd be afraid of someone still bumping into it.
I don't have enough floor space in my garage so my TP's go up on a shelf.

I'm going to solve that problem with a dust cover. I have my floor in the garage lined with vinyl in the motorcycle area, so no worries about concrete tarnish on the chrome parts. I wish I had some wall space left but I was out of options and this seemed to be the easiest resolution to the problem.

I just wrapped my tour pak up and put into a large box out of the way.

You have room to store a sissy bar below if wanted, a little mod to a frame spreader and it should sit right in.

It would not be hard to add hooks or anything similar. The metal frame is really sturdy.

Do a Google search for HD tour pak, and you will find a tour pak holder that mounts on your garage wall, and keeps it out of harm's way. Don't recall price, but probably not cheap.

That is a nice rack (never said that to a dude before)! I just don't have the wall space.

Wish I had room for the PolyDyn lift, that looks like a time and back saver!
