Probably gonna be ordering 2 sets of the extensions tomorrow: one for me and one for my dad for Father's Day. Couldn't decide what to get him. Just texted him (midnight back home) if he ever felt the floorboards weren't wide enough. haha I'm a sly bastard.
The Harley Goodies 1" floorboard extensions was one of the very first things I did on my bike. Ok, after the High Flow and a few other essential upgrades.
made a huge difference in riding comfort. Definitely a great and inexpensive mod for the bike.
I wear size 14 boots. The stock floorboard position on my UC was bad. Then, I went with Rinehart True Duals. The relationship of the left passenger floorboard to the rear pipe was just plain dangerous. So, I went with 1" extensions for both sets of floorboards from Soos. When I called him to place the order, it was like talking to an old friend. He was especially interested in making sure that the passenger extension was going to work out correctly for me. There's been a change to the configuration of the passenger floorboard mounting brackets over the last few years. Soos asked that I call him back after I got the extensions installed so he could gather some information about the location and fitting of the passenger extensions. He's very conscientious about his products. Anyway, the order came quickly and installation was straightforward. I called Soos after getting everything mounted with my feedback. Once again, it was like talking to an old friend.
If you're looking for extensions, it looks like, from the many posts in this thread, that you can't go wrong with either vendor.
BTW...the 1" extension on the passenger floorboard really helped keep my wife's foot away from that hot pipe. Me...I'm loving the extensions on my floorboards....it really makes a difference in comfort. I'm am noticing that I can scrape easier but that's no big deal for me....I had to replace the floorboards on my last bike...I wore them out from scraping on the mountain curves.
Tom I cant figure out from the web site if you make a set for the rider on a 2011 road glide cvo in chrome the better half would like the boards wider I know I do
I've bought from both Soos and Harley Goodies. Both have great products. On my newest bike I went with the Kury which moved me out 1" and forward 1". For me, they are great. No longer have 1/2 my foot hanging over the front.
I'm considering floorboard extensions, too.
I like the Kury set that offers 1" forward and 1" out, BUT I'm concerned about the right side of my 2011 SG. When I eye-balled the stock setup yesterday afternoon, the rear edge of the brake pedal was in line with the front edge of the floorboard. By moving the floorboard forward, the brake pedal begins to encroach upon floorboard space.
Do you find this to be an issue? If so, I'd settle for the HarleyGoodies or Soos-Kit which simply moves the floorboard out 1".
@FenderGuy53
I have the Kurys and love them. I have a size 13 boot so I need all the real estate I can get. For me there is absolutely no issue with the pedals. In fact before I got the extensions I had to splay my feet with the heels on the boards and toes pointing out because of lack of space. After the install, the left side heel shifter is now at the back of the footboard, where it should be, rather than 3/4 of the way back as in the stock setup. For me, all pluses, no minuses.
Had exactly the same experience....they double checked to make sure I wanted the chrome....they were correrct to do this because i didn't need the chrome.
Great people....great service........I really like the product.
Recently after spending some time on my new 2010 Road King I happened to ride a friends bike and noticed how comfortable his bike was shifting and braking compared to mine. The difference was the floorboard extentions. Reading this forums I noticed the Harley Goodies Retofit extensions. So I ordered the ones I though I need and got a call a liitle later from them correcting my order because I ordered Chrome when I had the black brackets. They asked specific questions that they didn 't need to and saved me the trouble of the wrong part. Thanks to them and I recommend these for the stock Road King big difference in comfort.
I had the same experience with them, and this is easily the best bang for the buck mod I've done to my bike.
