I have the older Scala "Teamset" 2006 vintage. If I charge them up and leave them on the VOX setting, we can ride for 3 days listening to the GPS and talking to each other when needed. Above 70 mph it is pretty hard to hear the GPS instructions with the radio running loud enough to hear. I the radio is off, about 75 is the limit of being able to hear it due to wind noise in the 3/4 HJC helmets. In VOX mode, you have to shout the 1st word to start the system but after that it is normal voice level to maintain a conversation.

I had the Scala Q2 and have now upgraded to the Scala G4. Never had a battery problem with either on some 12 hour days.

Where are you guys buying the extra audio set, which is the base with the speakers and the microphone.

I have looked at the Phatperformanceparts.com where I bought them, extra great service and cost, but cant find the audio set part number SRAK0003 anywhere for sale in the U.S. maybe Terry can find them?

Thanks for the info. It sound like it time to shop for a Scala set. What is the difference between Q2 and G4?

Anyone know if you can get a replacement battery if it dies in your Scala, or do you have to buy a new unit?

Not to hijack the thread, but what is wrong with CB? It has multi-connect, more range and no battery issues, at all?

Here's what we're using. Haven't taken a trip yet but we are liking them so far.
