I have a 2009 FLHX Street Glide...right aroung 2800 to 3000 RPM I get this growling type of vibration in my floor boards...Can almost feel it in the whole front end..Any Idea's what may be causing this???? Harley Davidson is really stumped on this issue and can't seem to fix it....
Check your right side head pipe exhaust heat shield where it runs under the cam cover. I had a bad vibe and it wound up being the heat shield was rubbing on the rear board bracket. It had worn thru the chrome by the time i caught it. I repositioned the shield and tightened it up real good and lost the vibration.
Motor mounts and/or stabilizers? Excessive crank runout? steering head bearing? tires?
Harley Davidson has checked all of this stuff,,,and found nothing wrong with any of it....They also agree that there is a problem,,,but between them and tech services,,,they can't figure it out...

Has the problem always been there or has it developed over time or suddenly? Did they check crank runout? What was it?
If they checked the crank runout you would have had a bill that included a parts list which should show various gaskets that get replaced on the teardown to do so. Make sure they indeed checked the crank runout.
Mine has done this for the last 9000 miles. Been in the dealer 5 times for this. They can not seem to find it. They replaced the front mounts and nothing changed. Almost feels like a tapping on the floor boards.
