Default Starter switch spring....gone! 05 ROAD KING Classic

After laying down a nice white sheet and proceeding to switch out my control buttons, everything goes fine until I am trying to reattach the starter switch spring.......dropped it of course and could not find it anyway on my nice clean sheet, general area or on the bike. Any idea where to get one of these small springs? According to the dealer they aren't sold separately and they said I would need to buy a whole new starter swith and he wasn't even sure it came with the spring

What are you talking about, chrome switch caps? What spring are you referring to?

The spring that goes under the starter button, I'm guessing...

Sounds like he lost the little spring that is on the starter switch cab that returns it to the "out" position. It's on the side of the switch cap, usually has a bunch of white grease on it to keep it in place and lubed up. Steve

I probably have one of those laying around. The new switch will come with the spring in it already.

yep, it's the little spring that goes under starter switch button. I found a switch online that was used and a lot cheaper and had the spring. Should have me back on the road by mid next week.

Is it a coil spring? If so, usually a local hardware store has a selection of springs. May be able to find something small and trim to fit.

I think he's trying to avoid buying a whole switch and housing.

PM me your address and I can probably get you one faster if you need it quick. I think I have a RS set of controls laying around.
