I took mine off only because I wear size 13 EEE & my foot won't fit between front & heel shifter.

Used to use it occasionally.
Removed it and love the extra space for my foot.

Default heel shifter

I use it all the time. You can get one that pivots out of the way making it easier to rest your foot on the board. I leave it in the back position and can still shift just fine.

Me too. In fact, I did this before leaving the dealer with my new bike. I still have a dirt bike and sport bike, so I don't wanna mess with that muscle memory. Plus, I like the extra left footboard space without it on the bike.

With my previous bikes I've always used just the toe shifter, but when I got my RK I wasn't able to get my boot under the toe shifter. I used the heal shifter for a while, but didn't like it as well. I've read several entries indicating you've adjusted the position of the toe peg so I'll have to figure that out. I didn't know they were adjustable. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Thanks-

There are two ways. The lever itself is mounted via splines on the shifter axle. So you could release the clamping bolt, pull the lever off and refit it having turned it around one spline or two. Also the rod between the foot levers and transmission is adjustable, so you could fine tune adjustment there. You just need a couple of spanners/wrenches.

Maybe would've used more if I started w/bagger, but just seems wrong & awkward. Tried using a bit, but getting ready to order spacer fm Dennis Kirk so it will be removed before next ride (whenever snow's gone).

I have always used the heel shifter, always liked them. Way back when I owned other brands that didn't have them, always missed them.
Guess I got used to the heel shifter and liked them. The 96 Electra glide that I had didn't have one, one of the first things I put on it.
