I had a $50 coupon that I bought for $25 and used it today to buy a set of those new harley tour pack hinges. Took about an hour to mount them on the tour pack, they are pretty nice and would have been worth the full price of $49.95. Much more solid and better looking then the stock hinges. You drill the old rivets out and use torx screws to mount the new ones.
Congrats on getting the new hinges. They really look good. I think the stock hinges are so cheap looking and takes away from the appearance of the bike. All tour paks should come with these new hinges.

I totally agree, but not even the Screamin`Eagle comes with this upgrade. I also did this and it looks great..

The Premium hinges are a fine enough upgrade but I perfer the simple look of the stock hinge set up.Kind of reminds me of the old days when Harley Davidson didn't paint bikes with colors named after a popular red wine "Merlot" and bikers didn't discuss things like Bluetooth,MP3 music files, speaker impedance and amplifiers. lol lol
Have a guy at work that cannot and will not accept the word Merlot as (Merlow), he insists it is Mer Lot and refuses to use any other pronunciation, he went to Harley and asked to see a Mer Lot bike, they sent him out to the lot, he was NOT amused as his buddies got to witness this!!
I too have the upgrade hinges, love them and the look.
Also installed the better hinges. Saw a CVO Road Glide at the Dealer , could't believe this $36,000 bike with those cheap looking hinges on the tour pak. From the moment I bought my Ultra eveytime I walked up to the bike it bugged me looking at the cheap crap Harley used on my tour pak. Best $50 I'v spent on the bike
For the benefit of those that have not seen these, does anyone care to post a pic of the new & the old style hinges so we can judge them ourrselves? - Thanks
