Yep, drill out the rivets and bolt on the new ones. Piece of cake.
I read some a thread where a guy dremeled off the end inside the pac. That will eliminate the drilling. Some like a good idea to me. I have them on the list this winter.

I had to drill anyway, the holes were too small for the hinge bolts. Just barely.
I like them too, will add to my winter "to do" list. Thanks to those of you who posted pics, really helped in making my decision.
You're welcome. By the way, plan to have a helper when you install them. Someone has to hold the lid while you're mounting the screws thru the new hinges. Tough to do with only 2 hands.

I did not have any help and it was not a problem. If you hook up the tether line and attach the latch to the lower portion first. I then just set the top on in an open postion and it stayed in place while I screwed in the top screws.
It would have been quicker using a dremel I think because all you are doing is grinding down the end of the rivet so it can pop out.
If you do a search there are a few threads on installing this and the tricks to help out, including what size drill bit to use to make it easier to install...I know I found it helpful when I installed mine. I do think they are more solid and look a good bit better...
Maybe I need to see these premium hinges in person....Went out to the garage and looked at my FLHTCU and can't imagine it looking right if I changed...
The premium hinges appear to be more sturdy, looks like there's about 2 1/2 times more metal to 'em....the hinges appear to be larger than the actual latches on the other side of the TourPak.
Would probably be too much chrome on the side of the box for my taste, but like I said, gonna need to see 'em in person.
