I like them. Think I'll go pick up a set. So you drill out the rivets and replace with something that does not require rivets? Cuz I have no idea where my rivet gun or whatever you call that tool is.
No rivet gun needed, but like Frenchbiker said the job is much easier if you have a helper to hold things. I tried it alone and it took quite a while and was a hassle, not to mention potentially hazardous. Drilling with one hand while holding something with the other isn't recommended when near cherished painted surfaces.
Maybe I need to see these premium hinges in person....Went out to the garage and looked at my FLHTCU and can't imagine it looking right if I changed...
The premium hinges appear to be more sturdy, looks like there's about 2 1/2 times more metal to 'em....the hinges appear to be larger than the actual latches on the other side of the TourPak.
Would probably be too much chrome on the side of the box for my taste, but like I said, gonna need to see 'em in person.
They're pretty much the size of the latches on the other side. Maybe a tad higher but not wider.
Now you said too much chrome??? How could that be? <g>
Look at them in person and I'd be surprised if you don't like them.

I'll definitely check 'em out,and thanks to mtclassic for the pic showing both types.
