Default Changing rear wheel

Well I'm going to try to change my own rear wheel, it's a 2006 street glide. Any advise before I start????

Are you gonna do it by hand or use a tire changer? I just did both on my '06 EGC with a tire changer and posted it here. My advice is to be extra cautious breaking the bead in regards to warping the rotor. I would suggest removing the rotor(s) to avoid any damage to them.

I'm not to that level yet, just looking to remove it from the bike.

I like to mark the cam adjusters prior to removal for a baseline belt adjustment when reinstalling.

OK then, if you have a service manual, follow the steps. First and foremost, on the left side mark a witness mark on the adjusting cam so that when you reinstall the wheel you can line up the marks and have the same tension on your drive belt as you did before you started. I learned this the hard way. I also took a scissor jack and placed it under the front motor mount to offset the weight when you remove the wheel.

I will pull the wheel off the bike and take it to my HD and let them mount & balance the new tire.
That's as far as I will go, too much work for me. I don't have any of those nice tire tools.
