Installing SE AC + Slip Ons
Quick question for you guys: How hard is it to install the SE Air Cleaner kit (29773-02C) and new SE Slip-ons (64985-07)?
The reason I am asking is that I am working on a deal for an '07 FLHRC (first bike), and my dealer wants to charge nearly double what I can get them for through either Zanotti's or Chicago HD.
I am also looking at putting the Heritage Classic bars on her as well, but that seems like it would be more troublesome (because of all the lines, etc).
Thanks for the advice!

If you know what a wrench looks like, you can install these parts. Don't forget that you will need fuel management to offset the increase in the air intake because I don't think the HD closed loop setup with compensate. Also, prepare for the dealers threats of cancelling your warranty, but if you stick with HD parts there's probably not much they can say, especially with the Magnuson Moss Act.
I would suggest buying the parts online, and then take them to an independent shop to be installed. Or, buy a PowerCommander, Screaming Eagle Race Tuner and install the injection maps yourself. Worked great for me, and i was able to put Stage One in place for around 600 with a Race Tuner.
I agree that it's a fairly straightforward job if you have some basic mechanical skills. I ordered my pipes and a/c from zanotti's. Also recommend a power commander from fuel moto. if you tell them what pipes and a/c you have they will send it with a pre loaded map.
Last suggestion -get the hd repair manual.

One more thing you'll want to get for the slip on installation...
WD-40!

My stockers wiggled right off. As for installing the new ones, I used a pipe expander to ever so slightly expand the pipe so it wen't to without pounding and/or lots of oil. Use new pipe clamps and torque them to spec. 60 foot/lbs if I recall...
