Default '12 Road King Install

I did not like the way the spacing was working out just by shorting the upper spacer & drilling
the sleeve and installing a spacer in the lower bushing. I was worried the different length of
the bushing alignment might be the reason for some snapping off the shock eyelets. So I removed
the lower sleeve by crushing it down in my vise at the seam so I could remove it easer. When
drilling out the upper sleeve I ran the bit real fast and while hot it pushed out easily. The Monroe
rubber bushings can now be removed very easily:

I have access to one of the Harbor Freight mini-lathes and shortened the Energy Suspension
9.91 05G bushing kit spacers to about the same as several HD factory bushings that I have
access to(friends) all are about 1.2" long including my RK:

Next I turned down and shortened the polyurethane bushing to fit the Monroe shock eyes:

Left bushing/sleeve is the finished part:

Bushing installed in the shock(top and bottom look the same):

I will post again when I get done with the shock bolts and slip on muffler mods!

Default Compressor?

My buddies and I are about to pull the trigger on homemade Monroe/Gabriel set up. My question is related to the compressor. I see lots of folks using the Viair 98C. In my search I see that Viair has a 275C that puts out 2.03 CFM and is just slightly larger than the 98C.

Any reason not to go with the 275C? I would think that it would raise the bike faster as it's putting out more CFM. I know that the 275C is twice the price.

It's a little bigger than the 98C. If you have room for it, the extra CFM can't hurt.

Where is the best place to get the push to connect fittings? No one seems to carry the 1/8". Was thinking of going 1/4" but can't find the thread on changing out the nipples on the Monroe shocks.

I got mine from PowerAire. I picked up the hose kit AK29 from OReilly Auto because of the 90 degree connections at the shocks. Now just to get back on the project and finish it.

What about just installing the shocks, airing them up to where ones happy with the ride. I'm not sure that I want to put a pump on the bike.

I ended up pulling mine back off and going back with either 2014 or 2015 (don't recall exactly) stock touring shocks. I LOVED the look of the slammed bike when parked somewhere but you can't ride with it like that and I found it bottoming out A LOT and I'm only 175 pounds. Since going back stock I haven;t bottomed out but maybe twice in the last 1000 miles.

I just bought everything to do the air ride on my street glide, I am planning on installing everything and doing a detailed step by step with pictures and shopping list for anybody else willing to tackle this without buying a kit. I got everything for 215 shipped which included a 35.00 factory harley 3 way switch to control the air.

After a 99 page post has anyone decided if there is a preference between the Monroe's & the Gabriels?
