I hope it stays the way it is - membership levels or not. After a bit of research I discovered another forum I belong to is owned by IB. Then I visited it for the first time in a bit only to discover that there are now restricted sections (such as DIY mechanics), special discounts only available to paid members etc. etc. Fingers crossed for HD Forums. Always been my favorite site.

I just thanked you. The club member status has a thank you button in the bottom right next to the quote button. When you thank someone for a useful post it will show up for the poster as being thanked. It will show up to the person who thanked them as thanks. So if you look in the right top corner of my posts it will show how many thanks I have given and how many times I have been thanked. One could also go back and remove their thanks.

When you don't change and add new ideas someone else will and take over where you decided not to go. Instead of complaining let it take shape and see how it goes. If it don't work out they can always make another change. I enjoy this site for the usefulness of the information I get from it. Thanks to all involved in the process and the time they spent on it.

Change is inevitable in everything and like most things I suspect some will absolutely love it, some hate it and most of us will find some good/bad but keep this the best HD forum going.

Terry, first and fore most, thanks for ALL you do here. We know you're not paid for putting up with all the crap! Second, with the amount of information I have gleaned here over the years, the few friendships I have made and many things I have bought and sold, I would gladly pay a price. It is all about value. If something is worth something, then it is fair to ask a fair price. Helll when I came to HDF I couldn't change my own oil and now do most of my own maintenence and all of my mods...that alone has saved me thousands of dollars...hell, this year alone, I got a free tire, compensator sprocket, and some other stuff I never would have known about were it not for the folks at HDF...I bought a set of wheels here for less than half of what they cost, never would have met the guy had it not been for HDF. I am constantly amazed at the folks who will pay $20K for a motorcycle, umteen tens of thouands adding to it and changing it and then balk at $10 or $20 a year for the information and entertainment found on a forum such as this. Starbux, cable, internet, eBay, paypal, booze, cigarettes....I could go on and on. There ain't no free lunches in this world...jus saying

Think of all the $$$ I would have saved if I followed this advice with my perfectly fine 08 RKC when I bought it new.

It's an HD forum, it's in our blood to tinker, tweak and modify.

I have to agree with Mike. My first reaction was bad due to the power of suggestion in other posts. I too didn't now much about my bike. Thanks to this site my friends ask me for advice now and I am not afraid to work on my own bike. I'll pay for a memebership if it helps keep this going. Heck .......I'll pay for Mike's membership if you make his avatar (and a few others) full screen
