Interesting comment coming from the mouthpiece of an HDF Sponsor who pays for the privilege of advertising on HDF so that those ads will further generate income.

 

Sounds like he's more interested in the readers have a pleasant experience than annoying plugs. That's the type of sponsor I will patronize in the future.

It's testimonies that sell products here, not flashing banners and mouse over ads.

well this sucks, all the other forums like 1130cc.com and what not have this premium crap and it suck advertisment every where

 

they are now counting how many thanks a person gets and whether or not they have donated to the cause. Kind of like separating of the classes. JMHO

 

Bottom line, this is all about more money for the owners. duh! With little to add making the forum better than what it already is.

That said, I think Terry and the others are sincere when they say "nothing will change......". And I agree with those who say they spend enough time here, received enough help, and gotten enough knowledge here, met new friends, had more fun, etc. etc., that the price is worth it.

However, what I see happening is all the "club members" hanging out in the "club members" only section and never venturing out to answer questions and give help to the non-paying peons. (which is what, I think, non-payers will become....low-life peons) Some valuable "non-members" may hang around to help out, maybe not.

I don't think that is what the mods have in mind, I just think that is human nature. After all, in the real world, those not in "the club" are treated different than those who are in "the club". As another already said, hope I am proved wrong on this.

But, a lot of us, I think, are "addicted" to this forum and will probably end up joining. That is what the corp. folks are counting on I think.

Right now, I am in a wait and see mode. Not to mention the chance that the dollar may be worth half of what it is now, this time next year, so I have become more cautious where I spend my money. (bike mods and garage expansion currently on hold also)

 

Sounds like the Obama regeme is taking over this site. I said crap on another site and got a warning, one more and I could be kicked off. Thats Crap!!

 

Not sure if it has been suggested yet but in light of all the negative feedback in this thread, one thing the powers that be might consider to incerase support of the premium member idea would be to loosen up the rules in the showdown forum for paid members....I've seen it in other forums.
