Alot of people have said that the 09 Header Pipe non-cat is a very good header and that very little if anything is gained by replacing it on a mild motor. At what point in the motor mods would changing the header be necessary or beneficial. And yes I know that going to a 2-1 would be a better exhaust for torque, but I'm looking at staying with the dual muffler set up. Either a 2-1-2 or a True Dual setup.
I have a 09 headpipe on the 2010 SG, I can't give a honest answer on power because i did the exhaust and power commander all at the same time. I will say this WOW my bike is alot better than stock and the heat issue went away on the right side for the pessengers.
I will agree that the stock headers are very good on stock to mildly modified motors.
...and paid for, so the cost benefit works out in your favor.
I would think that is power gains over 100 HP are to be made, then you might want to look at another header system.
that would really tie in with cam selection, weight of bike, final gearing etc.
A 'system" approach which really could use expert advice--( not from a guy who is eager to sell you parts or servicing)

This is true. Which is why I ask the question here. What I'm working toward is 100/100. My current set up is SE-211 Cams, Power Commander, and Basanni Slip on's.
Since you are already a power commander guy, maybe you would benefit from some free advice from fuelmoto.
they do field alot of calls from guys with problematic set ups.
2. i am convinced that the true dual would be counter to your goal.
What have you got against a 2in1 exhaust? If you want the dual look then add a false pipe. With the mods you 've got add a 2in1 exhaust and you'll most likely be close to 100 tq. A lot of guys avoid the 2in1 exhaust because they don't like the look. They spend $$$$ upgrading an engine only to stifle it with some crapy (duel) exhaust. I don't get it. It's like paying $1000 for a suit and then wearing it with a $20 pair of sneakers.
I like the look of the dual exhaust on baggers. Just my personal preference. I do know that there are manufactures who make Ghost pipes. How much of a gain can you really get going to a 2-1 over a 2-1-2?
