I have much more respect for someone who builds their own bike instead of just writing the check for it. Good luck with your build, hope it turns out even better that you imagine, looking forward to more progress pics.

Default Mirrors

What kind of mirrors are those, they seem to have a nice long stem?

I enjoy "project" threads; especially when they include pictures, part numbers, and "how to" information.

As for the CVO comments, I'm lost by them. Fact is there is a ton of product from HD and the aftermarket now that wasn't out in '03 (HD hadn't introduced the RK Custom or Street Glide), no blacked out front ends and other parts, etc. And extended bags, fat fenders, wrapped fenders, etc. for baggers seem to be readily available and somewhat more affordable. And for the most part most of these mods are bolt-on, so anyone with a decent set of tools and a painter can make a pretty wild or mild custom bagger. And this doesn't include the audio stuff that's now available that make the Radio Sound radio HD was using back in '03 seem like ancient technology.

Good luck with your project and keep the pictures coming.

Carl

At least with a CVO you'll recoup some of your money ay sale or trade-in. With a moded bike, you get nothing for the mods. Just sayin'.

I take a great deal of satisfaction out of doing things myself, not so much pride about the finished product, I simply enjoy the mechanical aspect of the work, tearing it down and building it back again.

Anyone who purchases any motor vehicle or mods a motor vehicle thinking that they will get a return on their "investment" is a fool, so do what ya like.

The exception to this is, obviously, classic vehicles that have a high resale value due to their current scarcity.

he's already looking at a big resale hit considering the bike is an 03, so why not dig into it and make it the way he wants?
