Wow guys, I thought it already had kick. The only thing I thought was a little strange is top speed. My riding partners have a 03 Road King Classic 88 and a 09 Street Glide 96, both with stage one kits. I can do 108 mph (but get there faster) and they can get up to 106 and 108.
I know different cams do different things. What do I do to get a little more top speed without losing the quickness. Don't get me wrong, I hardly ever go over 80 unless I'm passing in a hurry or maybe a couple of times on a long trip see how fast it will go on a long straight away. I would like to at least go a little over an 88 or 96. Love the quickness though.
Any other engine mods that increase power, speed or longivity besides cams?
Got a '10 Road King, bored to 103,Hi comp pistons,SE 255 cams,SE Pro tuner,Big K&N intake and Freedom Performance 4 inch exhaust.124 mph on the GPS. It has 41,000 on it,runs like a striped ape. 46 mpg out on the road.
Welcome to the forum, from NH as well. When you get ready to refresh the engine why not stay at 103 or maybe bump to 107? If I were to go to the expense of a 110 I'd be thinking 113/117. Just food for thought. What part of NH are you from?
Hanover/Lebanon area - yeah, may just stay with 103, been great engine for me so why muddy the waters. Will just wait & see
