Default Ohlins Shocks - Pictures Please

I have read nothing but rave reviews about ohlin shocks for touring bikes, and spent quite a bit of time reading all the info on the Motorycle Metal website. I also spoke to Howard and got some great "shock therapy".

I am convinced they are the way to go for my streetglide, but the only detail I would like to satisfy in my mind before I shoot the puck is the appearance of the bike when looking at the rear.

I have a vivid black bike, and although I hate the stock shocks, everthing is painted black and nothing stands out when viewing the bike from the rear. This I like. I am curious to see how much of the Ohlins shocks are visible as they are not black but alluminum colored.

I am quite particular about looks as well as function. I would like to see some photos from people who have them installed, with enough closeup to see.

I have attached a sample photo of my bike from the rear but would appreciate a much closer view of yours to see the shocks and how much is actually visible.

Thanks so much in advance!

As I posted originally, I have been all over Howards site and the only pictures are from the side with the bags removed so you can see the shocks.

I want to see what the installed shocks look like with the bags on when standing at the rear of the bike.

I tested the Ohlin 6's from Howard, they are great, that is me and OL on the black Ultra at the bottom, for the SG you should discuss with Howard. These shocks will make your bike a whole new bike, I am pretty sure you can get teh springs any color you want, you can also take them apart and get JRK on the Dyna section to powder coat them for ya.

How much black do you want?! You can hide the shocks completely with custom panels between your bags and fender if you are really bothered. This is one of my #3-3 from Howard. You can have the springs in yellow or black as an option.

Speak with Howard, sure there will be possible options before final build.

Did these raise the back of the bike up? Do you know if you can run these shocks with a lowering kit, or would that defeat the purpose of buying great shocks?

Mr bluffo the first picture is exactly whatI was looking for, thank you.
Hardly noticeable tucked in there.
I will definately be getting a pair.

Did you get the 12" version, the same as the stock shock?
If so does it have enough travel to give good performance?
