While this is an old thread, I thought I would post my custom console insert. I bought the H-D replacement insert which is the sort of gel like piece that is a peel and stick. The original piece was a cheap rough plastic piece that looked terrible, this piece looks great in my opinion. At an ABATE rally a few years ago a pin striper was there and I had him do some work on the insert and tank sides. I had no idea what I wanted put on there and told him to put on what he thought fit well with the bike. I think he did an outstanding job and am real pleased with what he did. On the tank sides, the part that was added is to the left of the Harley Davidson decal.
