Default Who's Using Progressive Sprimgs

Just wondering who is using progressive springs in their Ultras? Next week I am sending out my lowers to be chromed on my 2010 Ultra and was wondering if a change to the progressive springs would be an improvement over the stock springs? My next question is, which fork oils are being commonly used? I have read and noticed quite a few of you are using the H-D SE oils and mixing two weights together to make a 12.5w.
Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated while I got her in apart...

Thanks in advance..

Great opportunity to upgrade your springs. I've had them in every bike since about 1980. Major bang for the buck, and you will notice a big difference. I also used a 12.5 mix and liked it, but I installed Ricor Intiminators last year (WOW) and now use the 5Wt they recommend.

I like the springs for sure huge improvement, suggestion tho I put the SE heavy in and I wish I would have put stock back in so I could really see what the springs themselves did then go from there. I will go to a lighter weight oil when I change it again I will go for the mixture more than likely.

Another option is the progressive mono cartridge kit. That is what we run in our baggers at the shop. The handling is phenomenal. Yet another option to add with new springs are the Ricor Intiminators. I am having these put in my bike tomorrow and if they perform as well as all the reviews say they do I will be happy man.

Here is some info on both.

I just found a review. You might want to read it.

Brian at Ricor told me not to use the Progressive springs with the Intiminators, as they are designed to be used with the stock HD springs.

On that note, I have a brand new set of Progressive fork springs (non-lowering) that I never used, for sale- the OP, or anyone else can PM me if interested.

I'm going to try out the monotube. I've been hearing really good things about them. Now I just have to figure out if I want a 1 inch drop or stock height. Bike's an inch lower in the rear now, and I kinda like the look the way it is.

Believe Brian said or meant to say “do not use progressively wound springs” with the Intiminators, no matter who the manufacture is, and that a single rate spring works best. Progressive (the company) sells both progressively wound and single rate springs. Single rate springs to suit your rider weight, if you feel the need to experiment due to rider weight, purchased from Progressive (the company) are fine.

I dunno Hal. I already had progressive springs when I installed the Intiminators, and I am very happy with the performance. What reasons do you have for not recommending the combination?
