I picked my SG up a week ago. When I test rode it the buffetting was awfull. Part of my deal when I bought it was that they'd replace the shield. They put the tallest SG shield Harley makes on it and I've had no buffeting at all. It is also a lexan shield. I'm pretty pleased with it.
I think it's 15" tall and part # 58314-97
There is no doubt you can increase the height till the buffeting goes away, the trick is to get rid of the buffeting with the lowest shield to keep the great looks of the FLHX. I found the 7" Freedom fills the bill at less than 100 dollars.

I just bought a Bagger Shield for my SG a couple weeks ago and I love it. Its an adjustable shield with a dark tinted bottom section and clear top you can look through. Adjusts from 8"-12". No buffeting issues at all.

Nobody has mentioned Klock Werks.
Is anyone else running a Klock Werks?
I run a 10-1/2" Clearview and an 8-1/2" Klock Werks.
Both excellent.
I had a Clock Werks on my SG for about 2 weeks and couldn't stand it. It was like the shield actually diverted the wind directly at my face. I've got an adjustable Bagger Shield now and it works great.
+ one for Clearview shields I have several but run the 10.5 re-curve @ 6'1" I can look through it or if I sit up tall can look over it.
I had a 10.5" Clearview and liked it but the shorter 8.5" Klock Werks I use now is the same up to 55 or 60 but the KW applies the down pressure to the front end and makes riding at higher speeds much smoother and less movement in the fairing and handlebars.

What he said.
I can't imagine what A Street Glide looks like with a 15" screen on it. ??
