The stock windsheild on my 07 rg is rattling like something is loose? I've taken it off and on several times now and cant figure it out everything is tight. It seems like it might be hitting below where i can't see (where it screws in). Anyone else have/had this problem?
thanks
Mine is more like a rattle I think the windsheild is making contact w/the fairing. There are 2 cheap foam strips that look to hold it off from hitting but what the ****
I also have the rattle from my stock and 9.5" Harley shield.
Mine stock and shorty windshield have scratches on the black area from
contacting the inner fairing. This is were the noise"I think" is coming from.
I tried to contour the inner fairing, but the noise is still prsent.
The next time I have the windshield off I will add a second
layer of foam higher from the stock position.
I hate rattles!
I tried that with mine but it puts the windshield in a bind when fastening down and also created a wind whistle from the air leaking up under the underneath. Didn't take long for me to remove them.
Guys,
Has anyone added the chrome trim piece over the stock rubber channel at the base of the windshield. Does the noise go away? I just added the cover yesterday, but haven't had time to take if for a ride yet.
Mike
i put the new chrome piece on in place of the rubber. it looks great, and the rubber issue is gone. i have also had the dealership replace the foam inside the windshield with thicker foam. the scratches are gone and there is no rattle at all. i think it is worth the investment.
