New guy needs windshield advise
I'm brand new to this forum, but have read a lot of interesting threads and the advise given appears to be quite helpful. Here is my issue; I ride a 08' ultra classic and have tried about every style/height windshield available, in an effort to acheive riding comfort. I am 5'11' tall and the original 12' oem windshield is perfect for touring. However, for just cruising around on hot days, it doesn't offer much for rider comfort. I've tried several of the curved windshields, but it swirls the wind around so bad I can hardly keep a pair of sunglasses on. Currently I just switch from tall to short depending on what the majority of my riding is going to be for that particular day, but things change as the day goes on (wind, rain, etc). So here is my question; Does any one know of an adjustable windshield for an FLHT, it'd sure be nice to adjust to whatever riding condition comes up? Your imput would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 99 Ultra-i have the factory 12" shield for touring and the 10" smoked Long Ride flip shield for day to day riding. really like being able to see over the shield as opposed to seeing through it. No complaints with either-mind you, Im 5.9 with my boots on so your mileage may vary :-)

Had a long ride ultra. The wind comes off the top of that shield, spins it and forces in right down behind the fairing. The buffeting is unbelievable. The first time I had it on the bike, i took it off and it's laying in a ditch somewhere along Interstate 35 between Minneapolis and Duluth, MN. I rode the rest of the weekend without a windshield, it wasn't pleasant but better then the buffeting that shield caused.

Thanks Dawg! I got the link you sent me to an older thread talking about the bagger shield. That looks like exactly what I am looking for. I was actually thinking of trying to make a windshield that I could adjust from short to tall. Looks like I won't have to. Thanks for the help
