I've got the Mamba reverse gear, and yes it has no problem reversing up an incline. I also find it very handy with my 30" inseam, especially when the passenger floorboards are down because they really reduce the room you have to back peddle.

I've been riding for about 30 years and I haven't used reverse yet. I had it once on a Goldwing but only played with it. Prior planning when parking saves about $1400.

I guess I'm lucky, my dealer threw my kit in for free to seal the deal. And it's great not having to "prior plan" before parking. Just pull in nose first and later onlookers watch in amazement as I reverse out.

There are times when i wished i had the reverse gear. Like on gravel when the bike is loaded down. It helps to have some good boots with traction but it would should be alot easier just to drop in reverse.
What about having to find that perfect parking spot that you know you will be able to get out of.
That would be a thing of the past.
I don't think i would go the $1400 route just to have it but, it would be nice.
The other thing i was wondering was, would the new gear shifter be in the way?

Default Considering the competition...

I really do not understand why the MoCo wont just put it on there stock..

The Wing's have it. The big BMW's have it. No excuse for HD not to have it.

Wow, very cool and it looks like it works with the flip of a switch. I didn't see one for the 2010 ultra but maybe i missed it.
The price $1700 is a lot more but, beats having to shift in to gear when you can just hit the switch.
Ive been riding for 20 years and never needed one but, i didn't need a cell phone either, now i cant live with out it.

In half a million miles I have rarely 'back-pedalled'. I get off the thing and wheel it backwards! I also don't park it where I can't ride it out. I can't imagine ever wanting reverse! Spend that money on something else.
