I've been having problems with my HK radio cutting out at intermittent times. it seems to just stop putting out any signal to the fromt speakers. Until I change the position on the three-way speaker selector switch on the dash. I've read here that this is a common problem. I was just wondering how much trouble and expense it would be to replace the three way switch. this is the third radio and it is still having the same problem. I figure it has to be a short in the switch. any help would be appreciated. thanks
Mine is doing the same thing. The radio stays on, but no sound comes from the speakers.
I never tried changing the position of the switch, but if I turn mine off and then back on, it will work again. But after anytime from 2 to 10 minutes, it does the same thing again. It does this on the XM mode and on the FM mode.
I called Iron Cross Audio and they told me that it is a bad audio circuit. The radio needs to be repaired. Mine is still under warrantee and it goes in today.
The radio works perfectly when I'm plugged in thru the Harley connector using the helmet speakers.
I also sent mine into Iron Cross for the repair. Very frustrating as it was still under warranty. But every time I went by the Dealer it wouldn't cut out. So far it's working really nicely since having it repaired.
I just got through having the same problem. My warranty was soon to expire so I bugged the dealer until they finally got it in to find out what the problem was. They said it sounded like the 3-way switch problem they have been hearing about. So they replaced the 3-way switch and it didn't fix the problem. It turned out to be a couple of bad speaker connection to the Hog-Wire tweeters. I pulled the outer fairing off and fixed the problem.
