For what you want, I'd go with a 2 into 1 exhaust like a D&D Fat Cat. That will give you an amazing improvement in throttle response, especially at lower rpms. Any one of several high lift short duration cams help, as will a big bore kit. Be careful of your cam choice, in a lot of cases changing cams moves the power band up to where you lose low end power. It will have more power after it winds up a little but I don't think that's what your after.
