If it's true that the 103 inch motor will be standard across the touring line in 2012, you'll probably want the Limited so that you can retain resale value down the road. All of us lowly 96 inchers will be singing the blues at trade-in time....

But I surely do like my Ultra Classic!

I'm a bit confused on the accessories listed., my Ultra classic came with ABS, and chrome wheels, the accessorie power outlet is only $30.00, I can get 107 cubic inch kit for $1,300.00 and installed for another $600.00, (and it will provide a whole lot more HP and torque than the 103 would ever dream of), it also came with saddlebag and tour pac bags, I really don't need the heated grips, and while I'll agree with the oil cooler being nice, one with a powered fan would be better.

So I stand by my statement, for me, the Ultra Limited is not worth the extra money over my Ultra Classic, but could be worth is over the plan Classic, depending on the deal.

Really?
My mistake, I should have said "looks" less of a bike. The wheels are great, the 103 is good but the rest most can do without. If they keep everything that the Ultra has and add the Limited's extras then it'll be more than well worth it.

I chose the Ultra.. My dealer had 'em both in two-tone root beer.
My Ultra came with the security/ABS option. The titanium gauges didn't appeal to me, I just bought the chrome bezels for mine. Even though I live in the northeast, I found heated grips to be limited (no pun intended) in value. The backs of my hands get cold, not the palms... heated grips don't fix that....gerbing gloves do..

I actually like the extra rails on the bags since I know I'll dump my ultra in a way that the bags will get scratched if the guards were not there (eventually).
The 12V connector in the tour pak is in the wrong spot for me, I'd rather have it at the bars... that leaves the 103 motor, oil cooler and chrome wheels...nice to have, but I did a stage 1 on my '96 and I'm happy. I'm more of a long distance rider anyway.

To each his own, the limited I saw also had the Boom amp and speakers installed, but the price was 28K... my ultra was 23.4K...too much of a difference there too.

Let me explain this one more time. Your black Ultra didn't come standard with ABS, Security and chrome wheels. They are options. A 2011 Black Ultra with chrome wheels, ABS and security will cost you $22,655. A black Limited will cost you $23,699. A difference of $1,044. So you get the 103" motor, oil cooler, heated grips and a host of other do dads for $1,044. Seems like money well spent to me.

+1; confused me when I saw that one

Anyway to the OP; I have found it worth it. I love everything about it. If I had bought a bike without the heated grips, cruise control, etc. I would have ended up installing them anyway, so why not get the limited? I wished it also came with a butt scratcher ...

In the end it's your choice, but no regrets here.

The 2012's will have the butt scratcher standard along with the 120R

the gauges are CRAP...all that effort, and the idiots at the MoCo got it wrong.
My Tach & Speedo do NOT match my other gauges.
the Tach & speedo are like a "blinding white HID" awesome clear color
the other gauges are a "bleary yellow dingy old porch light" mungy color.

i would not expect that on a ~24k bike....except from HD...

I would still search HIGH and LOW for a low mile Limited before you buy new.
most guys who pop coin for one, are gonna it in showroom new shape.

do you know how to use CRAZEDLIST to power search?

http://annapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/2337501702.html
you REALLY gotta read the fine print, here's why his price appears a tad high:
There is 2 year pre-paid maintenance also.

http://greensboro.craigslist.org/mcy/2382070503.html

i made a SUPER ridiculous low offer on my bike (like $20k or something) , and the guy countered with a price that was a thousand less than his "buy it now price"
the next day he called me..... "are you wanting to buy my bike at that price...because I just sorta threw it out there, because everyone is driving me nuts"

i said "i have the loan approved, and will be there tomorrow night with a cashiers check for the agreed upon amount"

he hesitated, he "hhhmmm" he "uhhhed' I think he even growled once. silence. then he said "bring it, i am tired of jacklegs who can't get financed wasting my time"

That's just great, .... now I got to get the 2012! That butt scratcher comes in handy, when that motor keeps pushing your butt back against the saddle!

After repairing my flat rear tire, a dealer in Nebraska informed me the ABS was inoperable and needed to be repaired. When you need it most it's not there for you. Now I'm out of warranty and have to shell out EVEN MORE cash to get it fixed. Personally I wish I'd saved the money.
the rear feels weird on the foot pedal. It seems to give up but the computer is still pulsating so it works.

If you don't like it, don't get it fixed. Defective ABS isn't a problem. Your brakes just revert to non-ABS assisted brakes. Sort of like an escalator. When it breaks, it just becomes stairs.
