Default Oil Dipstick blows out

HD dealer just installed a stage II 95 BB on my 01 RK. After the initial breakin period I got on it for the first time and it immediately blow out the oil dipstick with about half a quart of oil. The dealer initially said it was a ventilation problem so I took it back for them to look at. The HD dealer said they drove it 50+ miles and couldn't recreate the problem so they didn't do anything to the bike and said it probably won't happen again based on their road test.

Anyone have any ideas? I've never had any issues like this until now.

I had this happen when I changed my stock air filter to a Big Sucker air filter. The dipstick blew out twice. I knew all that I did was change the air filter so I took it off and saw that one of the ports to let the air flow in the new mount was particially plugged from the factory. I cleaned in out with a wire and the problem went away.

Yes, run a pint low on the dipstick, will solve that problem and reduce blow by into the air cleaner.
When your dipstick blew out, it probably spewked that "pint low" all over the side of your bike- which is why the problem has not repeated.

Same thing happen to me on my '03 RKC after a stage 2 upgrade and the first time I "really got on it" after the break in period - replaced the dipstick with a new one and it never had it happen again - guessing the that rubber gasket material had shrunk a little?

If you trip the rev limiter it'll push the dipstick out every time with a full 4 qts. Like others said put 3-1/2 qts in and shift before the limiter and it likely won't happen again.

Thanks for the info. Prior to the BB I changed the oil and put 3.5 quarts of oil in according to the service manual. I ask the dealer if they added oil when they did the BB and they said they didn't but I'm wondering if they may have now.

I've never had any problem with the dipstick prior the BB but maybe it needs to be changed. I just find it odd that it happened just after the BB.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I didn't hit the rev limiter. I ran it maybe at three quarters just to get a sense of what kind of power it had.

too much oil, also get two of those rubber rings that go on the dipstick--one at the top one at the bottow -- it will never happen again -- it will be a little hard getting the stick out when not warm.

I find that statement ny the dealer BS. To do the BB kit, didn't they change the cams??? You won't loose much oil from that, but some will come out of the cam chest, also a small amount from the rockers. I normally change the oil right after a motor build also, but even if you don't we check level and add as needed.
