X2 Though if the kid sped off, couldn't have been all the poster's fault.
I feel terrible for the poster and his daughter as I can not think of how bad he must feel (i have two teenage daughters and I would be sick if it were me) but lots of reasons people don't stick around. Might be wanted for any number of crimes might not have been a legal citizen or insured or any number of reasons. Sucks just the same but as vunrable as we are on bikes we need to do all we can to protect ourselves and sometimes that means good defensive driving skills.
Hope you both heal well. A terrible thing to go through. I retired from the FD and seen a lot worse. I WILL NEVER PUT A PERSON ON MY BIKE THAT IS UNDER 21 YEARS OLD. Anyone under that age should not be allowed to have someone else make the decision to put them on your bike. Sorry, but if you've seen the things I have, you would understand my reasoning.
In todays world more people are driving with out a license and insurance and have cars that are not legal, I know about it from experence.
I wish people who see this happen should get the car-lic number and a description of the guy and tell the Police?
This guy will do it AGAIN and maybe this time he takes someone OUT ! It's a SIN that we can not get these idoits off the roads and make them safe for everyone to use safely !
I wish you much luck in you and yours recovery and hope this nut is found.

You think the other driver is going to get rear ended again?
I probably won't make friends here but.... As I read here you rear ended someone before because they slammed on the brakes. Now you had a similar type of accident. Maybe you are following to close? Most of us do. When you are to close you allow the person in front of you to control your actions. With proper distance you can choose to slow, not stop, change lanes etc.
As far as the azzhat leaving the scene (if he/she was actually touched) there is no excuse. Always stop and render assistance then sort out who owes who what.
Heal quick, both of you.
In the 1st accident, the guy pulled right in front of me, I had no time to react.
This time, no one hit anyone...The IDIOT driving the truck slammed on his brakes and stopped in the road...After braking, my front wheel turned under and then my bike hit gravel and we crashed. I do not ride to close up on anyone. I was being extremely careful riding...my daughter was with me! I think 2 wrecks in over 35 years of riding motorcycles speaks for itself.
So sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you both heal quickly. I ride with my 3 daughters and reading this gave me a chill. Just refused to ride my middle daughter as she is preg. She got a lil pissy saying you never have accidents, that ones not gonna be the 1st, I can assure her of that.
Glad you both made it out alive. As an RN in a trauma ICU, I've seen lots of people with multipile rib and sternal fractures stay for weeks to months at a time. People do not realize the high mortality rate associated with pulmonary injuries. Prayers for a speedy recovery for you and your daughter.
