If you are like me, I have already dropped my ipod off the bike @70mph, screen was destroyed, case was bent.

However the logic board and the battery are still in 100% working condition. So I bought an Ipod interface, no extra harness or anything, wired it up, stuck the Ipod in a waterproof bag, and stuck it in the fairing.

When I turn on the radio the ipod is always charging, if the battery goes dead, as soon as it is charged enough to go on, it will turn on and be recognized. I can control everything from the handlebars, and my $300 ipod is now basically a mounted hard drive on the bike. During the winter when I take the bike down for cleaning, I can remove the ipod, connect it to my pc, and sync any new music.

32 gigs of music and only music at my fingertips, all apps, and pictures and anything else that is not music has been removed, and no one will ever know its there cause its in the fairing.

That sucks!!!

If you want to try and fix your ipod I have bought things from ifixit.com . They have parts, tools, and directions available to help.
