Default What shocks???

Lately I have been thinking about upgrading my shocks on my '09 Street Glide. I like the stance of the bike, and do not want to lower it or raise it any, but am really struggling to find the sweet spot with the stock suspension between comfort and not bottoming out.

I am looking at the Progressive 940 Ultra Touring shocks. Their webpage says that it will retain all the travel of the full height shocks but sit the bike an inch shorter than stock (I assume this is for EG, RK, etc... (standard height bikes)

My question is, if I were to put these on my bike, would I get what I am looking for? Is there anything else I should be considering?

Thanks,
mikebaby

The progressive 440's are a big improvement over stock. I have the standard version 12.5" raised my '11 SG one half inch. 3 rounds of preload. Very nice ride. I wouldn't want to go any taller as you would put the shock mount closer to the muffler. And shorter would give less travel. Good luck

Progressive are the best in my opinion. Can't really go wrong with them.

Spend the money once and get the Ohlins.
Just got a pair of #2-3's from Motorcyclemetal and am very happy with the results.

Another vote for ohlins. I am have the 3-3's on my sg. I do not think it changed the ride height at all. Best money I have spent on the bike.

Just did the Progressive 940 upgrade on 2010 FLHX.... Can't go wrong for the price and the bike handles better and no bottoming out.

any issues with doing rear (progressive 940) shocks only? keep hearing that you need to do the forks too?
