#1 complaint - the drive by wire throttle --> give me my cables BACK! I cannot stand the hesitation I am experiencing. I am a long time rider (43 years), so I REALLY notice it. Is there a retro fit? A friend of mine's wife just bought a 2011 Deluxe, and it has cables -- ?
#2 complaint - this thing is flippin' HOT on the right side. The bike has a slip on (V&H), but I would like to get the head pipes replaced and get rid of the converter. Does anyone make a 2 into 1 head pipe system for a bagger?
#1 I have no idea what you are talking about. I have a 11 RK and I don't feel any hesitation. Maybe there is some kind of adjustment, I hope some one can help you on that.
#2 Vance&Hines has 2 , Pro Pipe 2 into 1 and Competition Series 2 into 1. Caliber and Supertrapp and Bassani have them. I think there is more if you look around.
Hesitation compared to cables can be reduced by a proper tune. Changing the VE table at certain throttle positions will help make it respond quicker.
Replace headpipe will reduce the heat. Whatever one you want is your choice. When you replace the headpipe, you will need a tune and hence that should also cure complaint #1
You didn't say if you have the complete stage 1 set up or not so try that first, and also maybe go with synthetic the next oil change. Also, I have to give a sponsor of this site (Captain Itch www.Captain-Itch.com) some kudos for his crotch cooler which really helped my heat issue.
Welcome to the Harley Davidson Merry Go Round.......
Sorry but,You are gonna have to spend some $$$ to make your new bike run like you want it to.
Whats been mentioned:Tuner, intake, exhaust is a good start. The heat & FBW issues are indeed corrected with a good tune & getting rid of the Cat.Take advise from the folks that have gone before you.It will save you some time & $.Regards & good luck,Tom
Just need to get the new scoot dialed-in...many good recommendations already posted & I can add #1-Techlusion TFI/GEN3 tuner & #2 Bub-7 TD's. Also need breather so get some ca$h saved & start upgrading.
I don't know why, but the delay of electronic throttles is as common on cars as they are on motorcycles. The new Mustang drives me crazy with its delay and I struggle on my Harley to make smooth throttle inputs in corners.
The problem with the delay is the driver (rider) keep adding more more throttle during the delay to make up for the lack of performance during delay, but once the engine does respond with the excessive throttle input, the bike, or car accelerates more quickly than the situation demands.
Sorry for the soap box, but the thottle delay is a big pet peeve.

You can also add a tuner to your car. I put a tuner on my F150 and it ran like a bat out a heel when I stepped on it. I also was able to speed up the shifting in the electronic transmission. Car tuners are much easier to work with than bike one. I had a flash tuner that was able to hold 3 different tunes. I had a performance tune, economy tune, and a towing tune. All less than what my Harley tuner cost
