Default Fat Tire

I always felt the rear tire looked too small on the older Ultra's/Dressers. When shopping for the new SG, it was a factor for me. Limited to 09 newer, and the prices on used were close to new, I went with new. Was the beefy rear tire a factor for you?

When deciding on my last one, I wanted the fat tire and the no taillight fender so it was a '10 for me.

Smaller tire for me. But I bought mine with a lot of custom parts and all oem parts for a steal. 21/18 combo.

I definetly like the looks of the fat tire. I remember the dealers had signs in the windows about the `09s having 250 changes compared to the older frame so there`s more to it than just the tire.

You just got used to the 250 tire on your old chopper. I have the same problem. It seem every time time I look at a custom its the first thing i look at. so basically old habits are hard to break.

Simply a question. Nothing to do with my last bike having a 250. Before owning that one, I had looked into wide tire kits. I felt the old Heritage could use more rubber on the road. I felt the Ultra was a big bike that needed more tire in contact with the pavement, might say, out of proportion. To be very clear.... I'm certainly not trying to be critical, or implying one is any better that another.

The model, the color, and some of the changes were part of the decision process for me, and one of those the was the wider rear tire. In time I may go even wider in both front and rear. Just wanted to know if it was me or if others felt the same. I also realize more tire could cause problems in handling and balance and would like to hear issues that may have been experienced with that.
