Notice a fine oil mist or spray on cam cover front edge. There is no oil dripping just this fine film of oil. Taken to dealer (that was a joke), they said oil filter was loose. They hand tighten it - oil film returned. I have changed oil filter three times - oil film returns each time. Long rides is when more oil spray appears. Looks like maybe oil is coming from Oil Pressure Switch or one or both 1/4" allen set screws on front side of oil filter adapter. I have taken oil pressure switch off - switch had a film of oil on the plastic parts of the switch and taken just the top 1/4" allen screw out of the oil adapter then replaced switch and screw back in. Place "white" in color sealer on the threads. Wonder if anyone else has had this issue. This is on 2010 Ultra Classic.

Could it be the oil filter bracket? The two lines that run in the bracket have rubber gaskets that need to be in the right place when mounted. On my Road King, three bolts hold the bracket on and need to be checked for tightness or oil will leak and spray when you ride. (Happened once last year and I thought it was the filter)
Sounds like you have the leak narrowed down.
Maybe you can wash that area then watch for the leak to reappear.
With the mess still there, take to another dealer if you still have the warranty.
I'm surprised nobody else had this same problem. Good idea doing the dye test or just using talc power. Bike is still under warranty, but two hour ride. I figure i would try to locate this leak.
I had this problem on my 07 ultra. Turned out to be the top allen screw. Was told this by mechanic. They should never turn however one was loose. If you can remove reseal and tighten them down.
sturart1270, i removed top allen screw and resealed. Weather here been so damn hot i haven't taken bike out for the last eight days. I plan riding tomorrow to work. Time will tell if i found this oil leak.
