I have a 2011 FLTRX Road Glide Custom and run the Baasani Road Rage II B-1 exhaust , the muffler is a 4" muffler , I am installing Ohlin's #3-#3 shocks from Howard and my axle nut now hits my muffler , since I have a 2 inti 1 system is there any reason I couldn't turn the axle around , the others side sticks out less than 1/2" where as the nut side sticks out a little more than 1" , this seems a like a quick fix to me ?

I switched the one around on my Night Train. Don't know why it wouldn't work on a Touring bike.
ETA - Now that I think about it, I don't think you can. Isn't the left side cam welded to the nut? If so, you wouldn't be able to reverse it.
could I mark where the axle nut will hit up against the muffler and the take a 2 X 4 lay it on the muffler and flatten out part of the muffler for clearance ? being they have baffles I would think this wouldn't hurt performance ? ANYONE HELP

I had to do just that when I installed my V&H Monster Ovals on my SG. I used a ball peen hammer and tapped the outer muffler shell a little at a time until I got the clearance I needed. Just don't break through the chrome finish, if not the muffler will start to rust unless you put some high temp clear coat on it.
I'd have to shorten it by about 1/2" to make it fit and that would defeat buying the #3-#3 , unless anyone gives me a better idea tomorrow I'll do like HDV-Glide suggested

FWIW, I had the same problem (only worse) with my #3-4 shocks. I ended up going with Fuel Moto's 4" Dyno-Tuned Jackpots because they have the axle relief built into them. At the shocks' shortest setting they're still over 14" long, and I have a couple of millimeters clearance between the muffler and the axle.
