If the dealer wanted to take care of his customer, he'd take the part off of a recently uncrated bike and get you going. ( We used to do it all the time.)
Bottom line, they simply don't care.
That's exactly right, they don't care. I had a clutch cable break on my Honda VTX one day and was about 100 miles from home. Local dealer didn't have one so they pulled one off a bike on the show room. I give them as much business as I can but that's what you call customer service. I didn't buy my bike there either and they didn't know me from squat. Just a great dealership. I would be up in their *** over this. This is the kind of thing that would make me switch brands if it happened to me. Completely ridiculous to be down over a month.
Thats exactly what happens. They have since changed the part number and vendor. Still down and waiting. Did the Benz customers get loaner vehicles when their cages went down?
no they didn't, if the car was under warr, they would give you a good deal on a rental but that was it, mercedes doesn't make mistakes, and they certainly won't admit to one, and besides if you own a benz, you should already have another car! (no arrogance there!!)

I have suggested everything to my dealer, loaner, rental, and raping another bike for the part only to hear "thats not our policy" ! Like I stated before, if I put up too much of a stink now, when the part does come in they could jerk me around for another month with "problems" with the fix if you know what I mean. I am stuck between that proverbial rock and a hard place.
