Ok so.....my back ordered part ( induction module ) for my 2010 Streetglide with 14750 miles, which by the way has been back ordered since July 5th, was supposed to be in today, is not in today.....go figure. Down for over a month is not fun. I called Harley again today and talked to a manager....for the fourth time, and was told he would look into it and get back to me with some answers.....ya OK ! No phone call. What a surprise ! Good luck friends dealing with Harley customer (no) care !
I would be beyond frustrated. I would call every day until it was fixed. They will get tired of trying to think up excuses, and someone will get your part in.
Still under warranty ?? If so, I'd be screaming and hollering for a demo
bike to be riding.
Probably wouldn't get one, but they would realize just how pizzed I was....
pn#27685-08A which is what your bike calls for is now obsolete and superseded to pn#27200003 which is on backorder until 08-12-11. The following dealers show as having in stock:
Maryland
Harley-Davidson of Washington, DC Fort Washington P-301-248-1200
New York
Staten Island Harley-Davidson Staten Island P-718-447-4009
Virginia
New River Valley Harley-Davidson Christiansburg P-(540) 381-6311
Washington
Timber Wolf Harley-Davidson Spokane P-(509) 927-7433
Lynnwood Harley-Davidson Lynnwood P-(425) 921-1100
I can tell you that when a dealer calls another dealer and asks for a part that is on backorder, chances are the dealer that has the part tells the other dealer that they don't have it or can't let it go, etc. If you cannot wait, then start with the NY dealer and say that you are passing through and ask if they have the part, etc. If they do, ask your dealer to buy it with a credit card for full price and have it shipped to them(take about 1-2 days). There are the -08 and -08A parts available at various dealers, but with a warranty issue they have to use the most updated part.

Im in staten island......you can call them and give them your credit card number and if they don't want to ship it..ill ship it to you.
What is going on with the induction modules causing so many of them to fail?
Defective design.....instead of the gentle whine of te FI when you hit the start button, it sounds like Woody Woodpecker is trying to peck his way out of your aircleaner! Beware......if you hear this noise.....bring it to your dealer asap! Hopefully they have the part by then ! Hope it doesn't happen to you brother....or anybody else out there!
