I agree, especially with the newer bike. Most guys want a six speed and the 09 up frame. If I was buying a pre 09, with what I have learned I would look for a real nice 2002 carb version. They have strong bottoms, the carbs are easy to work on and will never be made again on a Harley. They also have a following.

Default Re-resurrecting This Thread - Thanks!!!

A choice between:
A) 2007 CVO Ultra Classic FLHTCUSE2 in like new condition with 30k for $11k (just had the 30k mile service done by HD). Upgraded heated touring seat so it is more comfortable than original seat. NOTE: I need to confirm M1225A and M1226 were completed. I didn't know about them until I read through this thread.

B) 2010 Ultra Classic in like new condition with 30k for $9k (just had the 30k mile service done by HD). Added a Garmin GPS unit which is an important add on for me because I rely on GPS A LOT!

Both bikes meticulously cared for proven by HD service records. Both have similar upgrades for pipes, etc...

Both are great deals, and I will make the best decision for me. But I'm interested in anyone who has put a lot of miles on these bikes and drawn a conclusion based on experience, technical knowledge, maintenance, etc...

The CVO likely won't depreciate much more than at $11k, so it's probably the better financial decision. Do I save myself the $2k because they're equivalent bikes that will do roughly the same job with minimal creature comfort differences? Or, does the CVO have better options (remote locking bags, alarm, etc..) than the "standard" 2010 Ultra Classic?

Does the 2010 have a better intercom system? CB radio? Upgrades to the ABS, electronics, EFI, etc... I know about the updated frame in 09 and how that would benefit me for rides more than ~ 400 miles. Any other major difference between an 07 CVO and 2010 Ultra Classic?

I really appreciate everyone contributing to this thread because it's been really helpful!!!

My typical riding is day rides that last about 6 hours, though I'd like to do some longer tours for weekends/holiday weekends, etc...

Thanks!
