since the ecm can be remapped I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THERE ISN'T A COMPANY that will sell different maps like they have for triumphs example tuneboy ne a great moneymaker
They do, it's called TTS or Power Vision. If you go with Power Vision, FuelMoto will probably have something with a setup similar to what you have.
There is so much noise floating around about the value of the HD Download that it's hard to figure out what is the truth. But I spent a half hour with the service manager of a prominent HD dealer here in the Atlanta area a couple of weeks ago and he gave me information that convinced me that the HD Download was appropriate for my application.
He told me that the HD Download does in fact remap most of the components of the ECM, including the fuel mixture to match in increased air volume of the SE Intake. The fuel mixture is adjusted to maintain HD's prescription for AFR, which is a lean setup for emissions compliance and protection of the catalyst. He commented that aftermarket tuners often provide a richer mixture that results in increased performance, but that this was often a tradeoff of lower fuel efficiency, increased emissions, and potential damage to the catalyst. He wondered if removing the catalyst by the consumer was legal and said that a HD dealer could not remove it legally and the HD would not support warranty claims for exhaust systems that included removal of the catalyst.
The service manager also said that the HD Download increased the rev limiter and that there are minor changes to spark timing.
As for me, I have a Stage 1 setup with HD components and it works very good for me. Although I have used a mixture of aftermarket components on previous bikes, for this new one I chose SE FatShotz mufflers, SE Intake, and the HD Download. The bike runs great.
Which dealer are you referring to in Atlanta? Killer Creek, Earl Smalls, Atlanta HD or who? Sure would like to know.

Lab... were u getting pinging while in 4th gear about 2k-4k RPM ? and while in neutral no pinging when u would roll the throttle ? im curious since i am having an issue with my 2011 SG
Guys, the dealer that I referred to in Atlanta was Killer Creek, but I have also had great service from most of the others in town. My closest is Clayton County, but if I have the time I do most of my business at Great South.
Brunswick is closer to me and I get alot of add ons from them, but I bought my bike at mcdermotts and have any work done there. So far have been really good to deal with.
McDermotts is my favorite, followed by Vans in Gloversville.
