I went through this last winter on my 07 sg. Someone on the forums gave me a link to a thread using the 04 kits on an 07, as Carl has stated. I got lucky and found an 04 kit and it works perfectly. Good luck in your search, there has got to be some out there.
Okay...got the cruise. Now...I'm looking at audio. The previous owner of my bike installed a Sony marine stereo in the fairing...and did it real half-*** with some velcro. Velcro good on my ACU uniform, bad on Harley.
You seem to have your **** together when it comes to baggers...so I want your opinion on some audio gear. I'm told the stock HD Harmon Kardon is junk...so I'm looking at other options. Here's what I would like...a unit with an internal iPod dock and compatible with the stock HD handlebar audio thumb controls...and a recommendation for the speakers and amp. My buddies tell me to look at the ARC mini amp and J&M Audio speakers. What say you Sir? Also, one last thing...what are your thoughts on a "variable pressure clutch"?
Sell my Standard???? Are you kidding? Never. I have spent too many months in Iraq putting money away to buy my new baby...and I will never sell it. I'm back in Iraq now finishing my tour while my bike sits in the garage with the wife starting it up and letting it run for 10 minutes here and there. It's taken me over 8 years to get another Harley...and this one isn't goin' anywhere. Used doesn't matter to me...it's a blank slate that I can make my own. Thanks for the suggestion Danzio, but the Standard stays brother!
I am in the same boat as you are here,I finially got my dream Harley, but no cruise control option and none to be found except for one or two aftermarket shops online selling the obsolete kits for three times amount. I know this is a older post, but curious if you ever found one for your bike? On the same note as you said, I have no intention of selling my EGS, I couldn't of found a better 1st Harley if I tried.
Since nobody else has mentioned this-by having your wife start the bike up once in a while when it is parked, has the potential of doing a lot of engine damage. She's just causing a lot of condensation inside the engine. When that condensation mixes with your motor oil-it's good bye bearings, goodbye lifters, goodbye oil pump,...
Thank You for your service.!
