Will early 96" head pipes (early 2000's)pre cat converter, bolt up to a new 103" touring bike the same except for o2 sensors?

I've have a 09 Head Pipe w/o CAT on my 2010 96" bought it off of e-bay for $35.00 shipped. O2 sensors are in a different location, I'm running a PC-V so I disconnected the O2 sensors and don't use them. If you buy one check that it is the 09 pipe w/o cat. I beleive that there were two different pipes in 09. Hopefully this helps. This is an easy change and made a big improvement with the heat issues.

early 2000's pipes were for the 88" motor and did not have O2 bungs at all
2007 started the 96"
Not 100% sure but I think 2007, 2008, and 2009 had O2 bungs and no cats.
The bungs were different sizes and locations than the 2010 and up.

I actually think that the 88" head pipes will work on the newer motors, you just have to have the bungs added or be running a tuner that doesn't use them.

Hopefully if I wrong, someone will be along to help soon.

there are also issues with the later frame being wider at the rear section.

the bargain solution is to have the cat cut out of your header if that is what you are after.

either way you are pulling the header off- so the labor is the same- you already own your header- so find a shop who'll do it for you, or check the tutorial here if you do a search.

welcome to the Forum

Welcome to the forum, yeah look into doing it yourself. It took me a full day to grind it out then $35 to have a muffler shop weld the opening shut afterwards

02 -08 are the same except for the 02 bungs,09-20012 has the wider frame,09 catless headpipe works fine on newer bikes, u can adapt the newer 02 sensors to the 09 pipe.

Thanks for the replies,i looked at the head pipes in question and i decided to get a set of Fulsack and hang onto my stock head pipes.Cutting and welding is not an issue i can do all that at my shop.Fulsack is located in Lake Havasu and that where i live so it makes things very convienent.
