Well I just finished reading the HD bulletin m1304, and yes I just became an owner of the dreaded transmission rattle with an 2012 bagger. Well I changed out the transmission lube with Bel-ray, it quieted down some, but not much. My question is, Does anyone who has a rattling tranny, with a whole pile of miles, does it get quieter after a bunch of miles or does always sound like that forever, or what did you do to get rid of the racket.
Thanks in advance Jonnierock
Will be watching to see what type of responses you get....I only have 5k on the bike but had Shockproof put in at 1k service and didn't make difference...still rattles pretty good...I was next to a 2011 SG in toll traffic Saturday and was amazed at how noisy it was
where can i find the bulletins at? oh, and on my 2010, i wouldn't say it's a rattle, more like a clicking noise. mine sounds like it's coming from the primary case. i got a buddy at work with an '07 street bob and his is doing the same.
I've got an '07 FLHTC. Red Line Shockproof Heavy quieted it down quite a bit. I still can hear a rattle in sixth especially when the drive train is under little or no load. It may be a little noisy but no tranny problems yet.
