Like I said, the laws are in place to protect the idiots and the people they could endanger. Doesn't sound like it's working though. Still lots of idiots out there not wearing helmets and seat belts. I see the stories all the time. Person ejected from car and dies of head injuries. Motorcycle rider dies of head trauma. I have never seen an accident investigation say " He shouldn't have been wearing his helmet" or " If he wouldn't have been wearing his seat belt he would have survived" The statistics are there, if you choose to ignore them then goody for you. Hmmmmm, wonder why they put safety's on guns?
People do stupid things all the time. Should we outlaw being fat and sedentary? Smoking Cigarettes? There's a huge social cost to that.

When it affects other people, then the answer is yes. If you want to set on your a$$, smoke cigarettes and be a loser, that's great. But should you be able to be on welfare and have other people foot the bill for your stupidity? It's like the handicap scooters in Walmart. The sign says "Handicapped" , Not fatties that cant walk around the store. Since when does being fat make you handicapped?
I really hate people who think they are entitled to break the law because they don't agree with it. It would be nice to obey only the laws that I agree with but unfortunately I can't, I'm so glad that you can.
Ahhh, but you can, that's the beauty of it, but you choose not to, why? Imagine where this great country of ours would be if everyone always followed the rules ........ (See attached)
We gave up our rights to choose long ago when we elected the idiots that made these laws. The laws are there to protect the idiots, plain and simple.
I want my kids to live long prosperous lives. I try to set an example for them.
Hey KCFLHRC, you say we elected the IDIOTS that made the laws and the laws are there to protect the idiots, so since I'm not an elected official and I didn't vote, shouldn't I be exempt from the law because I'm not an idiot?
I want my kids to live a long and prosperous life, too, I also try to set an example for them. Part of that example is to always challenge the status quo and to not follow our government or anyone else for that matter into the deep black hole so many readily accept because they can't think for themselves. Sheesh man, grow a pair ..........
Since I comply with state law I'm a dickwad? What makes you so special that you don't have to? You some kind of royalty? I really hate people who think they are entitled to break the law because they don't agree with it. It would be nice to obey only the laws that I agree with but unfortunately I can't, I'm so glad that you can.
You sir, ARE a dickwad - NOT because you comply with the state law - but because you think we need laws to protect people from their own right to make decisions about their own personal safety. I'm sure that if I followed you around for a day or two, I'd see you do something unsafe. Would you like to see legislation in place to stop all of your unsafe activities?

Uh.....when you can't walk around the store?
Dude....you're one scary SOB.
Definitely get some therapy. Rarely do we get as direct a look at a true anti-social, narcissistic personality.
A friend of mine is a traffic cop in Alberta and I asked him about the novelty helmets, up here they get you a fine and your bike towed unless you have a real DOT approved helmet with you. I have the smallest DOT you can buy and the funny thing is that it is the only helmet that really fits my head and it' not freakishly huge.
Silver, would you mind sharing what kind you have and where I might get one? Thanks.

Please show me where I said we need any kind of laws. You can't because I never said it. Learn how to read. I did however suggest that if there is a law then perhaps it should be followed. My unsafe activities are not an issue here, I didn't post them on the world wide web. I'm still curious what makes you so special that laws don't apply to you.

You call them sheeple, around here we call those who break the law inmates.
Richard "Quig" Quigley was the activist in CA that went up against the CHP and made the helmet law virtually unenforceable in CA. As long as you have something on your head, you're good to go. You could probably get away with wearing a yarmulke, but I haven't tried it.
You should come up with a line of novelties that looks like that....hey the pet rock put $ in the dudes pocket while it lasted?
