I keep reading all the negative issues about noisy lifters and parts having to be replaced. I had a trouble free 05 EG that I traded for a 2011 limited 2 weeks ago. I am thinking about trying to get my old bike back..
What? Have you had any issues with your bike. All models even new ones have their own qwerks, but I wouldnt be trading it back. Just ride it like your 05 and have fun
Anytime you read a forum like this you are going to read about a large number of negative issues. Most people who buy a Harley will have very few if any problems with their bike like you did with your 05. Keep your Limited and enjoy it.
Great Idea !......ya know, the Flu season is comming around pretty soon, maybe you should use your old jacket this year instead of the new one. Ya can never tell if the zipper might break on it or something
After reading all the craziness here, I'm convinced I have a ticking (literally) time bomb.
But I'm planning on putting a lot of miles on it, so I plunked down for 7 years of extended warranty and I'm going to ride the crap out of it and not worry about it. If it blows up, not my problem.

Funny thing with a forum like this is that once one person reports an issue, everybody has that same issue, just didn't know about it.
If you're serious, and I hope you're not, then do it. In the many years that I have been a participant in enthusiast, I can count on one hand the number of threads I've seen started just to say that XYZ is troublefree. Lots of people only post about problems.
Can you purchase the extended warranty after the bike has already been purchased and miles have been put on it ?? My dealer said no because the original paper work has been processed.
