Default new road king owner....vibration

Ok, so I recently made the switch from the sporty to a RK classic due to the move from Cincinnati to Florida.

Anyway...I expected there would be more vibration on the bigger bike but I seem to be getting a lot of vibration through both the passenger and rider floorbards that causes some uncomfortable tingling. Any suggestions out there? better floorbards etc... Also, this is happening at highway speeds, not just at lower RPM's.

I've seen some jokesters on here so yes, we both have good shoes with good insoles etc...lol

Any suggestions woiuld be greatly appreciated. My wife has part of her spine fused together so we are looking for what ever comfort we can provide.

Thanks

My last switch was also from a Sporty to a RK Classic and I didn't have any of the symptoms you are talking about. I'm 70 years old with a really bad back and totally comfortable.

Engine is rubber mounted so it should be pretty smooth if not check with the stealer.

Sorry, I should specify too that it is an 04 so I am not sure if there was a change in the floorbards from them to now.

At 60 it should be almost glassy smooth. Have it checkd and start with the motor mounts.

Hopefully you won't need to check your bike's crankshaft run-out.

Mine is also an 04 and the only vibration I've ever had (or my passenger) is at idle on the handlebars.

hmmm. I don't feel the whole bike shaking or anything just seems that you can feel vibration through the footboards. I too get the major shake at a stop.

This is odd. I have never seen anyone go from a Sportster to a King and feel more vibration.
I had 2 Sportys before my 11 Road King and as soon as I take off at any speed it has a lot less vibes then my rubber mount sportster had. I would make sure everything is tight and have the motor mounts looked at. I hope it don't come down to a crank run-out problem...Good luck.
