I am extremely happy with the 12" bars! 10"s would have not been satisfying enough and anything over 12" bars would have been to much for 400mi-500mi per day trips (seasonal) for me.
As stated above, the 12" are taller than you think, but I had read that before I bought them.
Just for the record Monkey Barz are measured differently then most bars, so a 10" Monkey bar = about a 13"-14" of most other brands. Please keep this in mind when purchasing. I also recommend going to a shop that has them is stock and test sitting!(not always an option, but if it is take it)
Just my 2cents.

I went with the 10" PYO, no regret. I didn't want the bar too much above the fairing and that's the look i wanted.
10" is very comfortable for me and when i put the SG seat instead of the Ultra one, it feel higher. The seat you ride change the feeling in how high is the bar, my 02 cents (and hope you will understand me...)
To finish, whatever the size you choose, PYO Monkey bar is fabulous

I went with the 10" over the winter and I am probably going to change them out for 12" this winter. I didnt want my hands over the fairing to much is why I went with the 10" but with them i still get that burning in my back from reaching not near as bad as I got with stock bars though. I think the 12" will fit me better and do away with the burning.
I am a taller apes guy. Always have been. Started with 12"'s and worked my way up to 16"'s that are more like 18"'s. The taller the better, but like i said, that is just me. I can ride 500 mile days no problem with tall apes.
